Business Manager

Job Type: Part-Time

Pay: $1,500/month + Monthly Bonuses

Schedule: Wednesday – Friday 9:00AM – 6:00PM

Job Summary

Pop Up and Paint is looking for an energetic talented business manager to support our growth in Michigan and work at our Jackson location. Responsibilities span from ensuring operational efficiency to developing new business opportunities to ensure our studio and resources are leveraged at capacity. We offer a great opportunity to work in the fast growing paint and sip industry at a competitive salary, including generous bonus based on achieving target for revenue growth. The Business Manager will be responsible for maintaining the store in order to ensure customers and visitors have a great experience, ensuring superior customer service, supervising/supporting a team of artist staff and ensuring revenue growth targets are met.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain customer services and facilities
  • Answer phone calls
  • Reply to emails
  • Greet customers at the studio and provide assistance
  • Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment
  • Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with requirements
  • Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to identify service improvement opportunities
  • Maintain stock, supplies and inventories
  • Take inventory of art supplies, office supplies, store supplies
  • Order supplies
  • Check received stock against invoices
  • Keep stock app/software updated
  • Restock shelves
  • Make sure supplies are delivered
  • Maintain inventory updates
  • Staff management
  • Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees on each event; following up on work results and provide feedback
  • Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Maintain store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Maintain operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
  • Receive cash/payments and provide correct change/receipt for sold items
  • Make deposits and payments
  • Print and record receipts/invoice as needed
  • Keep track of customer credits/refunds
  • Collect receivables
  • Manage Groupon or other discounts codes and ensure right applicability
  • Products and services / Business Development
  • Keep calendar of events updated selecting paintings and type of event as needed and configuring into the calendar mgmt. system
  • Determine marketing strategy and changes by studying advertising, sales promotion, and calendar plans; analyzing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios
  • Identify additional needed sales promotions; study trends
  • Identify new business development opportunities for events and parties at our studio
  • Coordinate and plan events with our customers ensuring high satisfaction
  • Coordinate appointments and visits to see our space, and scheduling of events on the events calendar
  • Identify new offers and marketing strategies to develop business opportunities inherent parties and events
  • Identify new partners

Paint Party Instructor

Job Type: Part Time

Pay: $15/hour

Schedule: Friday 5:00PM – 10:00PM or Saturday 5:00PM – 10:00PM 

Application deadline: Rolling

Responsibilities include:

Instruct 2 to 3 hour classes mostly Friday and Saturday evenings

Keep the class instruction lively and on time

Assist Artist during parties by helping painters, refilling paints and water

Travel to party location within Michigan

Required education: High school or equivalent

Required experience:

Customer Service – 1 year

Art Experience – 1 year

Must paint in Acrylic Paint: 1 year
